Pieter first learned to ride a bicycle at the age of 3 and started racing at the Spurs School Series in 2013, focusing on XCO. Since then, he has won a stage at the Cape Epic, raced extensively throughout Southern Africa, and gained a great reputation as a professional racer. 

Pieter is also known to be a wizard in a workshop. In his spare time, he enjoys making and fixing things. He says his passion for sports and fixing things perfectly align when he has the time to service his bicycle. 

Pieter is a lover of the outdoors, you can likely find him and his girlfriend, Danielle, enjoying a picnic in nature when they have a moment to slow down.
